A graduate of and a 39-year employee of the Everett Public Schools, Dr. Stella is currently serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
Previously, Dr. Stella taught Earth Science, Oceanography and Life Sciences at Everett High School. He was also Principal of the Parlin Junior High School, and Classmaster, Submaster, Vice Principal and Principal of Everett High School before being appointed Assistant Superintendent of Schools
He recently served as a member of the Race and Ethnicity Data Implementation Task Force for the National Center for Education Statistics (U.S. Department of Education), the Graduation Rate Task Force for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and is currently a member of the Educational Technology Advisory Council, an advisory board to the Massachusetts Board of Education.
Dr. Stella and the Everett Public Schools have been involved in the development and piloting of every major data initiative implemented by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, from the Student Information Management System (SIMS), to the Education Personnel Information Management System (EPIMS), to the Student Course Schedule (SCS) data collection, to piloting the implementation of School Interoperability Framework (SIF) protocols allowing for the continuous exchange of data between district and state systems.
